School Community

Ryde East Public School students have a very close relationship with New Horizons Aged Care Facility across the road from the school. Each class visits the residents twice a year where they entertain with music, dancing, plays and showing their school work. Our students get a lot out of these visits which we have been involved with for many years.

Each year on the last Sunday in May, our P&C organise a major music festival for public, primary school bands. Schools can nominate bands for each of the following categories: beginning bands, intermediate bands, senior bands and ensembles to be selected to perform at this prestigous event. Each category is adjudicated and prizes are awarded. This is a major fund raising event for our school, with food stalls operating throughout the day.

Working Bees are organised, for each grade, throughout the year to assist in the maintenance of the school and as a social opportunity for members of the school community to meet together.
